In his latest manuscript Gabriele show us how to determine the thermo-elastic behaviour of rutile combining X-ray diffraction data at highP and high T together with direct elastic measurements.  The manuscript then presents a series of formulations and a simple protocol to obtain thermodynamically consistent Equations of State for the volume and the unit-cell parameters for stiff materials, such as rutile.
